Cead Mile Failte
One Hundred Thousand Welcomes
The mission of the Irish Hooley is to promote Irish/Celtic music and culture in Dubuque throughout the year. For generations, the highlight of Irish social life was the Hooley. Music, dance, song, good conversation and merriment flowed freely as described in the Percy French song, “There’s a Hooley on in Hannigan’s House Tonight.”
We hope you’ll join us to celebrate our Irish heritage at the Irish Hooley Music Festival August 20-21-22, 2015, with a kick-off on Thursday at the Hooley Unplugged concert at the Mississippi Moon Bar and then on Friday/Saturday, August 21 & 22 at the Dubuque Star Brewery, Port of Dubuque, Iowa. May the luck of the Irish be with you.
The JDIFF (Julien Dubuque Intl Film Festival) Closing day (26 April Sunday) will be IRISH DAY for the festival, sponsored by the IRISH HOOLEY. The closing films will be at 5 Flags Orpheum Theater (3:30pm to 6pm) and the closing party starts at 6pm with music by the band Kilkenny! Come join film artists and your Dubuque Irish Hooley friends for a warm-up to our Irish Hooley Festival.
